A New View of the Old West
Experience the beauty of the American West,
old and new, brought to life through paintings and
drawings by award winning artist Randy Galloway. The style can be referred to as "romantic
realism." Masterfully rendered, insightful, intriguing, clever, detail rich, colorful moments in time that tell a
story. Galloway also specializes in portraits of interesting characters of the American West.
"In my artwork, I tell stories of a not-so-wild-west. The people, the places, the animals. . . without the shoot 'em up version. Sometimes I'll read about the
West, watch
an old Western movie, or take a special photo during a reenactment that will spark an idea and then I'll work
to create that
scene with the hope of capturing the light, drama, atmosphere, reality, and emotion of that special
moment."

Twisted Fire Studio
The
crackling, twisted flames of a roaring camp fire are one of the most
enduring and romantic images of the West. Gazing into the ever-changing
flickers of a glowing fire, your imagination can wander and you can
feel the freedom of the wide open spaces that was so alluring to the
daring and independent early explorers and settlers. Fire made life
possible crossing the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains. Fire was life,
fire was beauty, fire was passion.
Fire is so often related to passion and my passion is art. Twisted Fire
comes from the many directions art has taken my life and now I am
creating art that is close to my heart. . .my passion.
So I named my studio Twisted Fire, not only for the beautiful images it
conjures up but also as a reminder
of all that it took to get to this
point.
My studio is in an earthy territorial-style home in the peaceful,
magnificent foothills of the high Sonoran Desert in Cave Creek,
Arizona. The growing artists community and an "Old West" character to the
area make it a wonderful place to create art. Feel free to give me a
call and stop by the studio to check out the newest paintings and meet
my wild-west Chihuahua, Poquita.
An exciting time to visit the studio is during the local artists studio
tour. Each year for six days total, the two weekends before and after
Thanksgiving, there is an art studio tour aptly named Hidden In The
Hills with 45 to 50 art studios sprinkled throughout the desert.
Twisted Fire Studio is part of the studio tour and it is a great time
to come by and talk about a custom commission for your home, office, or
cabin in the woods.
